Attachments and privacy

What Space Cake does with email attachments, and why files are not stored.

Attachments can contain private customer information, so Space Cake treats them carefully.

Files are not stored

Space Cake does not store attachment files on its servers. It keeps only basic details such as:

  • filename
  • file type
  • file size

That is enough to tell you a customer sent a file without keeping a copy of it.

Viewing a file

If you choose to view an attachment, Space Cake fetches it live from the mailbox and sends it to your device. After that, the file is discarded.

What Space Cake can say about attachments

Space Cake may acknowledge that a customer attached a file, but it will not pretend to have read it.

For example, it can say:

Thanks for sending the photos. I have made sure they reach us.

It should not describe what is inside the file.

Unsafe files

If a file looks unsafe, Space Cake blocks it and warns you instead of opening or forwarding it.
