Frequently asked questions

Will it actually sound like me?

Yes. You teach Space Cake your tone, sign-off, prices, hours, and common answers. Replies are based on those facts, so they read like your business rather than a call centre.

What if it gets something wrong?

You stay in control. You can approve replies before they go out, pause sending at any time, and sensitive messages such as complaints, refunds, and money questions always come back to you.

Do I need a card to try it?

Yes. You add a card to start the 7-day trial, but nothing is charged during the trial. Cancel before it ends and you will not be billed.

How long does setup take?

Most owners can get the basics done in about five minutes: connect an inbox, set the voice, and add the facts customers ask for most often.

Do I need to be at a computer all day?

No. Space Cake is built for owners who are away from a desk. You can connect the basics, check drafts, pause sending, and read your daily recap from your phone.

Is this mainly for trades and local service businesses?

Yes. Space Cake is built first for hands-on local businesses such as trades, salons, clinics, mobile services, tutors, instructors, cleaners, groomers, and personal trainers.

Will it answer complaints or refunds by itself?

No. Complaints, refunds, returns, and money or invoice questions always come back to you. Space Cake can send a short holding note so the customer is not left waiting in silence.

Which email providers work?

Most custom-domain mailboxes, GMX, mail.com, Yahoo, iCloud, and Gmail can connect. Gmail, Yahoo, and iCloud usually need an app password. Microsoft and Outlook are not available yet while we finish their secure sign-in method.

What's the easiest free email to connect?

GMX or mail.com are usually the simplest free options because they still allow a normal mailbox connection. A mailbox on your own domain is just as simple and looks more professional to customers.

Can I connect my Gmail?

Yes. Gmail connects with an app password, which means you switch on 2-step verification first and then create a one-time password for Space Cake. Some managed Google accounts do not allow app passwords.

Is my data safe and private?

Your inbox stays yours. Each business is kept separate, customer messages are not shared between businesses, and your data is not used to train public AI models.

What is the founding offer?

The first 25 businesses can use code FOUNDER20 for £9 a month off for 12 months. On Solo, that brings the first year down to £20 a month.

What happens to email attachments?

Attachment files are not stored. Space Cake keeps basic details such as filename, type, and size, and only fetches a file live if you choose to view it.

Does Coleus talk to my customers?

Coleus is the name of the helper you see inside Space Cake. Your customers still receive replies from your business, in your voice, not from a named AI character.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no long contracts. You can stop renewal, pause sending, or cancel from your account.

I'm a vet, dentist, or clinic. Is that a problem?

No. The same privacy protections apply, including business separation, encryption, a Data Processing Agreement, and account deletion/export controls. You still remain responsible for your own sector's rules.
