Space Cake

Supported email providers

Which mailboxes can connect now, which need an app password, and which are not available yet.

Space Cake connects to business mailboxes using the secure mailbox access your provider allows.

Usually easiest

These are usually the simplest to connect:

  • custom-domain mailboxes from many hosting companies
  • GMX
  • mail.com

These often work with the normal email address and mailbox password.

Usually need an app password

These providers usually need an app password:

  • Gmail
  • Yahoo
  • iCloud

An app password is a one-time password created inside your email account settings. It lets Space Cake connect without using your everyday login password.

Not available yet

Microsoft and Outlook accounts are not available yet, including:

  • Outlook.com
  • Hotmail
  • Live
  • Microsoft 365

Microsoft now requires a different secure sign-in method. Space Cake recognises those mailboxes, but will not send you into a setup flow that cannot work.

Providers that cannot connect

Proton and Tuta do not provide the standard mailbox access Space Cake needs, so they cannot be connected directly.
